The
heart of Duesseldorf pulsates in the beautiful Old Town. The little
lanes with their narrow-gabled town houses are home to around 260 pubs
- where the locally-brewed top-fermented Altbier is served - gourmet
restaurants, discotheques and night clubs. But Duesseldorf also has
the reputation of being the most elegant shopping city in Germany. The
Koenigsallee, a veritable fashion promenade plays host to numerous exclusive
shops.

& Attractions
The BENRATH PALACE
is one of Duesseldorf's main attractions where the parkscape and architecture
harmonize in a beautiful manner. In the market place lies the HISTORIC
TOWN HALL and the JAN WELLEM STATUE. The ST LAMBERTUS BASILICA
is characterized by a slightly twisted spire whilst the ST ANDREAS
CHURCH is a jewel of baroque-style buildings. The town's BURGPLATZ,
which has received an award as one of the finest German squares from the
post-war years, opens on to the Rhine with the OLD CASTLE TOWER.
THE
KOENIGSALLEE called 'THE KOE' is one of the most scintillating
shopping boulevards in the world, whilst the RHINE EMBANKMENT PROMENADE,
Duesseldorf's second promenade is an invitation to a walk along the river
Rhine. Also beautiful to see is the legendary music hall, RONCALLI'S
APOLLO VARIETE, which offers a unique blend of humour and entertainment,
as well as culinary attractions.
