Nuremberg's mighty castle, which towers above the beautiful romantic old town, the impressive five-kilometre long town wall, the crooked little half-timbered houses with thick bull's-eye window panes and the harmonious co-existence of new and old, give the town its special atmosphere. Nuremberg is also renowned for having the world's most famous Christmas market, the Christkindlesmarkt.

Sights & Attractions
The heart of the city is the HAUPTMARKT with the FRAUENKIRCHE and the SCHOENER BRUNNEN, a 19 m high richly-decorated beautiful fountain, whilst the landmark of the town is the KAISER CASTLE, a mightly castle complex above the city. The largest and most important churches in the town are the ST.LORENZ CHURCH, with the world famous 'Angelic Salutation' by Veit Stoss, and the ST.SEBALDUS CHURCH built in late Romanesque and Gothic style.

The HANDWERKERHOF is a nostalgic corner of Nuremberg. Craftsmen's shops, a gingerbread bakery, a sausage restaurant, etc. can all be visited. The largest museum of German art and culture is hosted in the GERMANISCHES NATIONALMUSEUM. For children and those who are still to be young at heart, there is the SPIELZEUGMUSEUM, a toy museum with collections from all over the world and the VERKEHRSMUSEUM (transport museum).

Next to Nuremberg is the 'Franconian Switzerland', a beautiful area with lovely mountains and valleys, castles and caves, and countless little inns. Also not far away lies Rothenburg, Germany's picture-postcard town.
